Google presents Gemini 4 Carbon, at first only for cyber defenders
The model follows two weeks after Gemini 4 Argon. Google does not name a date for broad access.
On 28 October 2026 Google announced Gemini 4 Carbon. According to Reuters, it is initially accessible only to a selection of cyber defenders in the Fairwind program while Google continues to test safeguards.
Google describes Carbon as a model for long programming and engineering tasks. It reaches top scores in vulnerability discovery, exploitation of flaws, and patches, Google says. In internal tests it generates secure code more than twice as often as Gemini 4 Argon. These are Google's statements.
The price is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, the same as Argon's launch price. Google does not say when Carbon will become more widely available.
