Anthropic reportedly has to expect a lower valuation for its IPO

After the slump in chip stocks, $1.2tn to $1.3tn is being discussed. Expectations are also falling on Polymarket.

Potential investors are now discussing a valuation of $1.2tn to $1.3tn for Anthropic's IPO. Bloomberg reported this on 6 November 2026, as summarized by Forbes on 7 November. The Bloomberg article itself is behind a paywall.

The Wall Street Journal had reported on 5 November that Anthropic was aiming for a valuation of $1.5tn and proceeds of up to $100bn. After the price slump of 5 November, institutional investors wanted a lower valuation; one investor named a figure closer to $1tn. Adjusting the price range or postponing the timetable is reportedly under discussion. According to the report, Anthropic had $146.6bn in cash as of 30 September. According to Forbes, Anthropic did not comment, and nothing has been decided yet.

On Polymarket, the range from $1.50tn to $1.75tn remains the most likely, but now only at 45.75 percent. On 4 November it was 64.8 percent, see report from 4 November. The price for $1.25tn to $1.50tn is 27.8 percent, for less than $1.25tn 13.4 percent, as of 7 November 2026, 12:36 CET.

All valuations are reports and not confirmed by the company; the prices are bets. Sources: Forbes, as of 7 November 2026, 15:56 CET; Investing.com on the WSJ report, as of 5 November 2026; Polymarket. More under Labs & money.
